Joel.jpgJoel Long – Executive Director

Joel Long is the Executive Director of the Children’s Scholarship Fund Omaha and joined CSF on May 1, 2017. Most recently, Joel was the Director of Communications at the Omaha World-Herald and Executive Director of Goodfellows Charities.  He worked at the World-Herald for 24 years and previously worked at US West Communications. 

Joel graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and received a MBA from Creighton University.  He serves on the boards of the First Responders Foundation and the Nebraska Sports Council. Joel and his wife Lisa have six children.

Brenda.jpgBrenda Helget, CFRE – Director of Development

Brenda has 20 years of experience as a fundraiser, and 25 years in nonprofit work. Most recently, she spent over 3 years as a major gifts officer for UNMC's College of Medicine/University of Nebraska Foundation, and 8 years at Methodist Hospital Foundation. She received her Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) status in 2004 and a Certificate in Fundraising Management from UNO. 

Brenda is a native of Lincoln, Nebraska and moved to Omaha in 2000. She has two children and three grandchildren.

Nikki.jpgNicki Rosenau – Program Manager

Nicki Rosenau joined CSF in May of 2014 and was promoted to Program Manager in 2018. She has previously worked for the Blair Public Library doing administrative and program related work.

Nicki is currently pursuing a Master's of Public Administration Degree at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Nicki is excited to continue her work in furthering the goals and mission of CSF.

Aly.jpgAly Ackley- Program Assistant

Aly Ackley joined CSF in the spring of 2018. She first studied culinary arts, horticulture, and welding at Metro Community College. Now she attends the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a focus on nonprofit management. Find her also at the Baxter Arena Holland Community Ice Rink working as an “Ice Guard/Life Guard.”  She understands the importance of education and is eager to support the mission of CSF as a life-long learner.
